    Looking forward to this now - weather will be the key to an enjoyable day - it can be grim up there.

    What's the 'GOING' going to be like? I'm doing Leg 2. Do I need a long stud?

    The going on leg 2 will be wet and grassy. You may bring your long stud..or your tennessee stud.

    Could be a frost on Friday and Saturday nights, so it may well be a bit crusty!

    last night just found out running leg 4,
    could you please help and advise,
    as per leemings posting,
    after sharp knott(cp2) is it best to stay high,retraceing via blake fell picking up fence(thinking poor viz) around high pen and decend into flagged route up climb to knock murton or drop early?where,via blakefell screes to forest track?
    sorry have not had time to get and have a look

    Get on Google Earth - it gives you a feel of the lie of the land as you zoom around.
    It also depends on how busy they've been with the tree-felling of late. Having looked at some pics on the internet, you can see that the area of woodland is fluid.
