1st ladies dark peak, 2nd calder valley

calder valley had a very good day overall as did dark peak.

great event. I was happy I managed to to keep up with my partner on leg 2!

Missing a checkpoint on leg? Isn't leg four flagged?

I could understand them missing CP on the Nav leg.

How did Nick Leigh and Alty get on? Oops, I meand P&B?

Leg 4 was not flagged and Nick wasn't running. Thought you would have got over the fact that Nick occasionally runs for another club on the fells it has been over 3 years now.

    Re: UKA Relays

I can tell you that Leg 2 was extremely tough - both our A and B teams found it very testing terrain and tough going.

I was in the B Team NAV leg with Mrs WP. Lost 10 mins getting to CP1 - went down wrong gully!

We then came back from CP4 and ended up to high - on Blake Fell butt CP5 was Sharp Knott!
But it was clag all the way - wind - rain - for a typical club fell runner like me, I would say that only around 30% of the route was runnable.

It is strange to put Leg 1 & 4 on what were practically trail runs, and Leg 2 & 3 on routes were the first sign of a rabbit path was on the final descent fror home!

I believe that Bingley, P&B and Mercia were all DQ'd for failing to visit CP1 on Leg 4.

Maybe they thought the FRA had set a precedent at Tebay

Well organised and thanks to CFR for putting it on - but no thanks for the weather and NAV leg that you constructed!
