Just looking to get myself after many years a single speed road bike, this one is brilliant and reasonable....

As for some of the comments on this thread, granny gear = aerobic fitness, huge gear equals strength. I watch too many people fighting their bikes...for what?

I know a world champion who when young was restricted to riding a 32 front and 16 rear, everwhere, eventually = world champion.

Anyways I thoroughly believe in high cadence as the guide to enjoying cycling and it doesn't tie you up on the running.

Why pay all that money for gears you hardly use, and I would like to know the cadence of the big gear pusher down Winnets, Wrynose, Hardknot or any other classic hill

Anyone who is thinking of doing a 'coversion' job on an old bike - here's an ad on Singletrack Classifieds which may be of interest: http://www.singletrackworld.com/foru...hain-tensioner

I used one of these for a winter a couple of years back, not the best build/bits in the world. PM Dom, he may have a little used Pompino single speed for sale which is a far better stead.

Do they not build garages where you live?

Yes, the old bikes are in the garage!

Plus they're insured inside the house under standard contents insurance.
