Bloody cold, wet and windy day marshalling up on a short score checkpoint. 6 hours of wind and rain froze us both, far better to be active. About 2 pairs came through looking happy, all the rest seemed to be swearing and chucking things about - something to do with tussocks.
Decided not to join the campsite and came home via the Rhayader chippy for a hot bath. Alarm set for 4.30am, see what tomorrow brings but we didn't recognise anyone today.
Drove back from N Wales this pm ... cold, wet, very windy... glad my partner's chosen to do the New York Marathon next week so I have a valid excuse for not being there!

I now officially have trench foot. The WORST underfoot conditions it has ever, in my 23 years of fell running, been privileged to experience.

And try sitting for 6 hours at a checkpoint in that weather, waiting for b****y fell runners to get their arses in gear and go through.
Well done surviviing, can't have been that much fun Saturday night.
