    Thanks for all those replies... and giving it a Ilkley Moor comparison. Just looked at the map (gulp!). Making it to CP 1 will be a start!

    Will try to remember some of those tips.

    At least I'm Lancashire born so I should be able to cope with the air!!

    I'm on the Wharfedale side of Ilkley Moor and keep meaning to put together a TOP style training route around it

    Whatever you do Yamaman make sure you save something for last climb on race day - its a toughie on tired legs

    Its hard due to the fact there isn't a well worn trod to guide you up, and of course very steep

    There is sort of a trod, but its so hard to find, and even if found, hard to stay on.

    Trod schmod! Up Big End you don't need a trod. Besides, it's pleasantly grassy, a joy to climb.

    Its the most delightful part of the whole tour squire!!

    I do like the way its steep all the way to the top, and when your at the top, you are at the top lol

    None of this slowly leveling off rubbish!

    Looking forward to this, just sent me entry off t'other day, hope i get in, tough race, died on second to last climb last year, born again on the last, could smell the Guinness all the way down to the finish
