    moving words

    keats in the feet

    feet in the haiku
    feet in the sonnets
    feet in the verse
    a leap in the verse
    a leap in the haiku
    a leap in the sonnet

    more tenous ones....

somewhere i have never travelled (for no other reason than i like e e cummings)

    capturing light

    cadence in the rhyme

I now know with certainty that i will never make it as an advertising executive as these are all pants!!!! it's really hard ain't it? and just the type of activity to drive a woman a little potty! good fun nevertheless!...will keep trying

    have a lovely day all

    Evening all.....

    Today more than yesterday

The things I’d like to do
    Today more than yesterday
    An ice cream for two
    Today more than yesterday
    Eyes, skin, eyes
    Today more than yesterday
    The openness of you
    Today more than yesterday
The way you looked at me that way
    Today more than yesterday
    Leaning into you-you to me
    Today more than yesterday
    Soft and warm
    Today more than yesterday
    The all of you
    Today more than yesterday
    I feel, I love
    Today more than yesterday

I adore this poem so much I could weep, in fact I often come close every time I read it...hope you enjoy

    Variation on the word sleep

I would like to watch you sleeping,
    which may not happen.
I would like to watch you,
sleeping. I would like to sleep
    with you, to enter
your sleep as its smooth dark wave
    slides over my head

and walk with you through that lucent
    wavering forest of bluegreen leaves
with its watery sun & three moons
towards the cave where you must descend,
    towards your worst fear

I would like to give you the silver
branch, the small white flower, the one
    word that will protect you
from the grief at the center
of your dream, from the grief
at the center. I would like to follow
    you up the long stairway
    again & become
the boat that would row you back
    carefully, a flame
    in two cupped hands
    to where your body lies
    beside me, and you enter
it as easily as breathing in

I would like to be the air
that inhabits you for a moment
only. I would like to be that unnoticed
    & that necessary.
