    Re: Today's poet

Oh my goodness...this is what happens when I go out and teach workshops all day...

I may have to stay up all night to read all this amazing poetry that you guys have written and I want to post some myself.

Freckle: love the haiku and the longer romantic poem and sorry that you didn't get to race yesterday.

This was once written for me and I hope someone will write me something again one day!

    deep asleep she rolls
casts her hair across my face
    and captures my dreams

    (romance is great isn't it?!)

    Re: Today's poet

My friend in the Antarctic loves poetry so I told him about this thread and our haiku but the internet on the ship is too slow to read it. In his honour I would like to post his first ever haiku:

    Snow petrels skimming
White capped waves and ice blue bergs
    Tiny hearts fluttering.

I think it captures beautifully the vulnerability of the wildlife of that incredible environment.

    part 3

    prepared to get lost
    in a woodland labyrinth
    but only felled trees

(I have done the FRA navigation course but I'm still nervous about getting lost and whilst sad to see a wasteland of tree stumps...I was kind of relieved that I could now clearly see the moor that I needed to head for!).

Three posts in a row is probably enough! Look forward to your poetry tomorrow folks.

    Yesterday's endings
    No need to analyse them
    With new beginning.
