Barley has a fairly large car park but it does get very crowded (and full) on race day yes, plenty of walkers and such will still be out in force and you may be reduced to parking on the surrounding roads.

The car park is fairly big, but I doubt it will hold everyone's car on the day, so I'd recommend getting there early, not only for that, but to get the registration completed so you can prepare for the start.

Another point actually, is that on the entry form it says at 10.30am.

Now is that the race start time, or get there for 10.30am?

yeah hursty I always leave plenty of time for all that - but some races need PLENTY of time (e.g., Anni Waltz this year - I walked there but the roads were mayhem)

    Very good.

Current forecast for saturday is heavy rain, but warm.

No doubt that will change dramatically to sub-zero and dry going off the BBCs usual weather forecast abilities

Last year I turned up fairly late and ended up parked outside village hall. Between car park, other parking areas and roads you won't have to walk more than a couple of minutes.

    You driving up now then?

well with my current level of fitness hoping to break 5 hours (that is if I am unfortunate enough to beat 2 hours at checkpoint 4 and am forced to continue)
could go from second from last 2008 to last in 2009
hmm better take a head torch just in case
