O blush not so! O blush not so!
    Or I shall think you knowing;
And if you smile the blushing while,
    Then maidenheads are going.

There's a blush for want, and a blush for shan't,
    And a blush for having done it;
There's a blush for thought, and a blush for nought,
And a blush for just begun it.

    Re: Today's poet

I hold your hand in the dead of night,
    Remembering when we were seventeen,
Young lovers in loves full flight,
The most beautiful girl i'd ever seen.

Two wonderful children the family grows,
Tears and laughter we share together,
Wiping the dirt from our childrens nose,
Our love grows stronger bound forever.

Now we reach our twilight years,
Fifty years in a moment and you more beautiful than ever,
Loves eternal beauty holds no fears,
We hobble in the sun looking at our grandchildren together.

Your hand grows cold i place it over your heart,
I ring the children tell them the news,
Don't worry my dear we wont long apart,
I take a knife across my throat i feel the blood ooze.
    My Darling we are together.

    Insomniac

    There are some nights when
    sleep plays coy,
    aloof and disdainful.
    And all the wiles
    that I employ to win
    its service to my side
    are useless as wounded pride,
    and much more painful.

    a pretty a day

    a pretty a day
    (and every fades)
    is here and away
    (but born are maids
    to flower an hour
    in all,all)

    o yes to flower
    until so blithe
    a doer a wooer
    some limber and lithe
    some very fine mower
    a tall;tall

    some jerry so very
    (and nellie and fan)
    some handsomest harry
    (and sally and nan
    they tremble and cower
    so pale ale)

    for betty was born
    to never say nay
    but lucy could learn
    and lily could pray
    and fewer were shyer
    than doll. doll

    Re: Today's poet

I was wondering about this nice, happy, friendly, and considerate poetry thread.

Since it began, it is a little green patch in an awful lot of grumpiness elsewhere on the forum.

Is it that there is only a finite amount of niceness to go round, and the too-specific gravity of this thread has drawn it all to itself?

Or maybe it's just that the negativity creates the niceness in itself; the crabbiness in other threads creates a balancing sweetness here.
