    went over leg 2 today,
parked at car park near withens clough res,
went up inside stoodley pike, great views.
it was not as boggy as i thought it would have been.
watch new fence stile near riding stables, nearlly hidden out of sight.
came back via centre vale/tod/kilnhurst/withins gate.
    good 2 hours.
    leg 4 next week.

    Re: calderdale way relay

last year I did leg 4, we set off from Blackshaw Head with three teams about 300m behind us we followed the Calderdale way to SD 9853 2779 just before Heptonstall and turned left following the 'Way' we went passed the church to the descent (as the hobble) but at the road crossing the other 3 teams joined us by taking a short cut down the road is this a reconised route?

I'm on this leg again and don't want to lose out.

Do you want someone to run the leg for you as well?? (not that I'm offering)

did you run through the church by way of the steps on the left?
as i understand it thats where the cw goes.

Not sure but we did go past the church following the signs but 300m was alot to catch up in a short time. (one of the groups we dropped tanother got away from us but it took another 5 miles for them to do that)

I think they cut up to the road at cross hill and ran down the road.

Is this a permitted short cut??
