16 miles on the hilliest bit of the Sandstone Trail yesterday. That's 40 miles & 5800ft in a week, & I'm knackered. It better turn out to be worth it - I'll find out on the Hebden I suppose. I'm really enjoying training harder, but I am a bit tired the rest of the time. Solo Xmas shopping on my annual visit to the big city (Manchester) on Saturday had me wandering round like a zombie until I had a pint of Holt's in the Ape & Apple at lunchtime.

First training run for 3 weeks, besides the FTOP last weekend, but that was a race.

Nice and easy 5 miles on the hills from my front door, around 1000ft.

reccy of Tanky's on Saturday: 21 miles, 4,000ft in the snow and fog

not exactly tapering, as the race itself is next Sunday but a very helpful training run I reckon in all senses

Good to see you're back home & well DT. I had a short slow trot around the Coppice this aft nursing my calf back to fitness after breaking it 2 weeks ago on a fast club road run

About 6 miles up to Pikestone farm, Coldberry and home, mainly intervals along a very icy lane and a few old Landrover tracks. But what a moon and what a brilliant night - snow on the N. Pennines - magic.
