This does seem to be a good all round event. Nothing too harsh about it, runnable, scenic, variable scenery and still hard work at times. I remember on a thread elsewhere somebody was saying about there top 10 fave events, I put one up and pretty sure this was top. That was a few years ago after only one go at it, but last year didn't dampen my enthusiasm. Not sure if still my fave, but way up there. Along with Romp and Stride this appears on my plan for each year months in advance.

I've scanned some rudolph's romp maps with highlighted route if it helps. Drop me a mail. I think route descrips have been emailed tonight so you should have those if your doing.

Storming run at the Wedge Chris! You finished around the same time as some of the other guys who travelled from Hull, were you their guide for the day per chance? or is that just coincedence, I'm fairly sure they didn't know the route. When a few of them said they'd ran 3.48 and 3.53 I knew that was good but didn't realise how far up the field that put them. I even managed top 35 for my modest effort.

No coincedence, i think one of them had done it a few years ago, but they were much stronger than me towards the end. They had to keep waiting for me to show them the way, but it did pull me along quite well. See you at the Rudolph tommorow

    Re: LDWA events

:Being a local yocal I guess I'll be first to report from Rudolph's Romp.

Good day for it, the rain had stopped by this morning, the sun was out and the wind wasn't near as bad as predicted and barely felt it till second half. So nothing worse than muddy conditions and where isn't at this time of the year? Ticked the 24.5m course off in 6m increments as I knew the first 12 were easier and I wanted to build a cushion going into the hillier second half. Did a good job with pace getting to 12 and the major "fill your boots" food stop in 1:49. Strong in the second half too, grinding steadily up the longer drags and even ran up most of the closing miles' steep drags. Got around in 3:48. Felt stronger today than have for a while. I think the steadier efforts at Burley Bridge and Wedge have eased me back in.

Caught up with Chris afterwards, how did you get on Tussockface? Anybody else on here do it? For anybody interested next year they had a bumper turnout this year (400+?) so mentioned it may be entry in advance next time.

Next up for me, probably Wheeldale Tandem and/or Filey Flyer in Jan, Rombalds in early Feb, and the "forum choice" Trollers trot in March. No doubt I'll squeeze a few more in too.

    Hard work done.... now its....

Nice one Danny, what a belting day with some quick times (under 3 hours) and thanks for your maps. Will you post the results on here when you get them? See you at the Tamdem
