    Re: Today's poet

A pair of red Chelsea boots was found at today’s Simonside race. Inside was a pair of sunglasses and a race number (0161) and scrawled on the back was this. If the owner wants them bloody back then they had bloody better drop me a bloody pm.

    Simonside

The bloody frost the bloody ice
I thought it would be bloody nice
To go out to a bloody race
To bloody show my bloody face
The bloody course was bloody good
The bloody rocks the bloody mud
The marshals they were bloody great
They bloody were first bloody rate
    I’m bloody glad I shared a ride
    To go run bloody Simonside

I heard a bloody runner yell
Too bloody late I bloody fell
    In a freezing bloody ditch
Then I got the bloody stitch
The bloody aches the bloody pain
At least it didn’t bloody rain
That bloody hill was bloody steep
It nearly made me bloody weep
“You’ll be fine” they bloody lied
    All round bloody Simonside

Too bloody fast the bloody pace
Will be my last this bloody race
I set of too damn bloody fast
    Everyone came bloody past
    Bloody blisters bloody murder
    Eleven miles? It’s bloody further!
    Bloody loved it, bloody ace
    My bloody favourite bloody race
I bloody laughed I bloody cried
    Evidently Simonside

I saw a giraffe and met Santa today. Also good fun.

brilliant HHH - The bard of Salford, HHH and Simonside fell race have evidently got caught up in that machine that was in the film The Fly and produced this verse.

I'm sick as a chip for not having thought of doing a fell race poem to the sound of Chicken Town - absolutely marvellous! (and by the way, you tube will have that amazing bit from The Sopranos where JCC incredibly crops up doing Chicken Town) - check it out poetry people!
Now... I thought you must have been there. but apparently not. It was a cracking day on the fells of Northumberland. A really good race and very christmassy if anyone fancies it next year.

HHH - as good as ever got posted here!

but lets not pretend JCC prefers B words when F words work 100% better!

    Black night.

Black night crushes the life from me,
Visions of my death come easily,
Imagine yourself all alone in the world,
Feel the threads of your sanity being unfurled.

Think of the lowest that you have been,
Times that by ten then your close to what i've seen,
People will think here he goes again he's blue,
But if you dealt with this shit everyday would it change you.

It takes over your mind and turns it on itself,
    Destroying your personality,ruining your health,
You find yourself on a ward with more of your kind,
While the rest of society pretends to be blind.

You are a shell of yourself chock full of meds,
Staring blankly forward with the others out of our heads,
So think to yourself what a lucky person you be,
Not having to wrestle each day with your in/sanity.
