Don't talk to me about snow . No gritters out this afternoon and it took me 3 hours to drive back from Skipton to Settle - thats 14 miles and I could have run it in two in my work suit!!!

Yes multiple threads is a feature of this forum, there's two threads for the Sedbergh Hills and they were used simultaneously this year.

Just been to pick up my daughter from the station. The snow is coming down quite hard now and the temperature is -3. First time I have driven in the snow with an automatic quite interesting with all that torque

There was a prang just before Hellifield I think which led me to turn off at coniston cold to go via Otterburn. That was a 'fun' detour on its own but then when I got to Hellifield the road was solid ice and the traffic had to crawl along. The gritters were out eventually so it should be okay tomorrow.
