Not as glamourous as all that - work trips to the states are not meant to be enjoyable! It's mall, interstate and chain restaurant America for us. Got a cheap running watch at the mall though. We engineered a few hours in Baltimore before our flight, found a big Barnes and Noble there. Excellent poetry section, I bought EE Cummings and Pablo Neruda on the strength of poem's I've read on this thread.

Hello folks...just spent a couple days in the jungle with monkeys trying to steal my breakfast! It seems like a world away from the fells and snow but I am thinking of you all when I write my daily haikus. Here is one from last night:

    a scimitar moon
    one hundred flying foxes
    head for the jungle

    Merry Christmas Everyone

I watch you all wrapped up and heading to domestic bliss,
Leathered feet crunching through the snow carrying bags of joy,
You don't even see me here in my dirty clothes,
The only thing i have to is sodden brown box under the arches,
I don't want your sympathy i just want to be warm and loved,
Drinking from my third hand plastic bottle at least the turps keep me warm,
I find some old foil and decorate my home god it's cold,
After some more to drink i go searching the behind the shops,
There's a large blanket maybe there is a father christmas,
I go back home smoke a fag and down some more turps,
And then i curl down in my thick luxuriant blanket,
    Merry Christmas everyone.

Hi Tri...still dipping in. In a world of extreme distractions at the moment. Some heavenly, others hellish! You'd think it'd be a recipe for poetry, but the muse is hiding right now.
Thankfully you're still on a good roll of creativity and I'm enjoying your offerings.

    Imperfect Man.

Imperfect man with an elusive mind,
I know what Sylvia means but the doctors spoiled my bell jar,
Left cracked and shattered on the floor,
Letting out pure animal psychosis stalking my white room,
Enforcing a false life unto me through knife scarred smiles,
There chemical love creates upon me the countenance of a clown,
Frantically inside i'm drowning trying to find where they've put me,
Calm reigns on the outside as a tear drops,
Cerulean orbs vacant patient controlled, self lost forever.
