    Re: Today's poet

    WHY ME !.

WHY ME ! Cant someone else be gods sick joke,
Hands up out there who tried to kill themselves ?,
You and you ok how many times ?. Once bloody amateur,
How about 21 that sound more like it you can shut up now.

WHY ME ! Cant someone else be gods sick joke,
After all of the above the bastard shows me heaven,
Do you know what it feels like be one with him ?. Unbelievable Eh ?,
It's like nothing you will ever know. Just go home now i don't want to talk.

    WHY ME !.

For Freckle i hope this helps in your quest for understanding in some way as i think we are all on this path or at least some of us are.
Matt you are truly gifted, this is an excellent piece of poetry. I would really encourage the book idea.

    Good luck mate

This simple warning is so true but you never heed it

    The Power Of The Dog

    by Rudyard Kipling

DJ - I read you'd had to say goodbye to your dog 2 days ago - i know how awful that feels, and I'm soory to hear it.
    Your poem is spot on.

I'm still here OW. I was just computerless for a bit, but after insisting to the Comet staff that YES all I want is a laptop and NO I don't want any software, and NO I don't want an extra guarentee, and NO I don't want a bag, so PLEASE just get me it and let me give you my money, I finally got one!

So I've got a lot of catching up to do.

    Crunch above with slush below.
    Running (slogging) in the snow.
    Ankles sore from rasping ice,
But even so, it's rather nice.
To make some tracks across the frost,
Then come on back to cheese on tost!

See! Look what happens when I take 2 days off! I've lost my edge!
Oi! HHH - frost rhyming with cheese on tost????? Get a grip man! You've been away too long. Maybe this new computer cannot access the instant rhyme website? Do comet have a warranty against that eventuality?

Who are you? The poetry police?!

I lost all my favourites when the old one went. I'd forgotten about that. It was between that and my training diary before the battery died.

Deejay, i enjoyed the kipling poem tho it is very sad, i d o hope you are ok, the loss of a dear pet and friend is hard to bear....take care

on a different note...its good to see you lads OW and Harry having a banter again!...

i have been reading the forward book of poetry for 2010 again here is another one from there....

    Altogether Elsewhere
    Tess Taylor

They multiply, these cities of the heart.
Rooms we stop to rest our bodies in.

    Brief beds: One California night
    I saw humpbacked coastal ranges,

and scotch tinged, wet from naked swimming,
woke to smokestacks and dawn in Queens.

Light split the branches of new trees.
Stage-set lives implied themselves with props.

Now morning, with its birds, construction sites,
sun on a western freeway, city garden filled

    with lavender, with childhood light
this midsummer too will go soon.

    O unfinishable rooms,
homes that can feel so real so briefly,

I feel you incomplete me, incompletely.

Harry H went too far this time
    And created a dubious rhyme
    But he came a cropper
    When the poetry copper
    Spotted this literary crime
