Damn and blast! i can't find it on the internet but it does exist!!! honest!...instead here is a one i like by Emily Dickinson instead which I really like...

A little madness in the Spring
Is wholesome even for the King,
But God be with the Clown —
Who ponders this tremendous scene —
This whole Experiment of Green —
As if it were his own!

It was just something I saw today whilst on my run and thought it was poetic. Thanks for posting the Emily Dickinson as a response.

    Chinese lanterns fly.
    Lifting spirits, carrying
    a smile to the stars.

I've seen them in town, but there are loads of spots on t'internet if you google "chinese lanterns".

I always worry about them dropping into some neighbour's garden and setting it ablaze, but I guess they are no worse than fireworks.

    In a very ordinary world
A most extraordinary pain mingles with the small routines,
The loss seems huge and yet
Nothing can be pinned down or fully explained.

    You are afraid.

    It would scald your hands,
Rip the skin from your nerves,
Cause havoc with a computered heart.

You tried not to hurt and yet
Everything you touched became a wound.
You tried to mend what cannot be mended,
You tried, neither foolish nor clumsy,
To rescue what cannot be rescued.

    You failed,
    And now she is elsewhere
And her night and your night
    Are both utterly drained.

    How easy it would be
If love could be brought home like a lost kitten
    Or gathered in like strawberries
    How lovely it would be;
But nothing is ever as perfect as you want it to be.

Brilliant stuff and so evocative of the gritty reality we all have to steer own way through!

    Lanterns

God of heaven ruled one and all,
With sixteen dragons at his beck and call,
He inflicted famine, drought, pestilence and death on humankind,
Emperor Qinshihuang united the country and left the warring states behind.

The Emperor from that day to god implored,
That peace and harmony to this united land was restored,
On the 15th day of month one an offering each year would return,
And that's how we came to have the Festival of the Lantern.
