    Did you do it in fell shoes then Merry or trail ?

    Well for the majority of the race you'd be better in tril shoes because it will just stuff up your fell studs, but you need grip when your running through the peaty bogs....your decision,

    It was the section from the start to the beginning of the reservoir loop I wasn't familiar with so trail shoes it is. Missed this race for last 2 years through picking up a winter bug so fingers crossed I won't be disappointed again this year.

    A fair bit of knobbly, uneven track and tussocky sections too if I remember rightly, a good run out.
