    Re: Anniversary Waltz

a great day out yesterday and fab race, thanks dominmion for the lift by the way (and the hand with the slate) nothing like a bit of post race weight lifting for the recovery! 2:50 for me. 2 mins slower than last year - but at least shows consistency. I was all over the shop trying to find high spy - came over a little knoll to see it way off to the left in the distance and the folks I'd overtaken coming off dalehead about a 100m follwing a direct route to it - i obviously hadnt been concentrating on that part of the recce - a lot fo the other things I'd learnt on the recce did pay off though. (cheers chris and huwski)

First 'proper' lakeland fell race, and unfortunately the pre-race predictions proved right! Really enjoyed the race as far as Dalehead summit, but from there on the descents just finished me off. Fantastic race, and good to meet up with everyone.

Still, would rather do that that than the little fun run on the telly this morning! Cheers to all for organising a really great day out.

    Onto Borrowdale next....

Daleside, you were on Swoop's "shortcut"!! That's exactly where we went.

Ermm....I think someone moved the knoll - I went same route as you Daleside, as did Swoop. I'm convinced on the reccie we followed a lovely smooth undulating grass slope and appeared bang on High Spy?

Mr1470 - 11.3 Miles 4112ft Ascent on the Garmin thingy when uploaded onto Memory Map.

Great to see so many forum faces again, really made my weekend and well done to all who ran.

You've missed one. We've all been to Paddy's Pole today. A great race!
