Oh yes!! Good oh then, mind you I was ignoring the fact I'd taken the completely wrong line off Dalehead and ended up following the crowd

And I was about half way down the field at the time.
I was in around 20th at the time and the field had already split - I followed Stuart Shuttleworth and another on the left route straight up to the crags, and we could see Angela further in front on the same route, and another runner in front of her - presumably Mark Horrocks, and I think Scoffer went that way too, so it split pretty far up the field and I also presume Fellrunner went to the right and got mudged there!

I do like these split times .... hours of entertainment!!

Right, this is interesting for me....these are my positions on each leg (actually within that leg, not at the end of it)

Start > Robinson 170th Did feel pretty rough to start with.

Robinson > Hindscarth 123rd That's more like it

Hindscarth > Dalehead 121st Movin' on up, movin' on up

Dalehead > High Spy 187th A combination of a bad line off Dale Head and a "secret shortcut" on High Spy. Doh!!!

High Spy > Cat Bells 140th Followed Wendy Dodds on a good grassy line

Cat Bells > Finish 152nd. Surprised by that, thought I ran quite well. Went a bit far right at the top and had to cross the rocky path, perhaps that lost me some time?

So if I'd just felt a bit better at the start...and done a recce and chosen better lines over Dalehead and High Spy....
would have been looking at finishing a good 20-30 places higher. Ah well, something to aim for next year.

I take it you must have passed me on route from High Spy to Cat bells then, when I ran out of steam!!

Passed you just going up the slope to Cat Bells hopey .... and even had the time and energy to say a quick "hello"

Was also spurred on by Juicer and little Juicer who were supporting there .... once I realised they were watching, had to start running a bit

I didn't recognise anyone apart from Scoffer & I reckoned that he would be a good target to follow up to Robinson. I think this was a mistake on my part as he went to the right of the ridge up to Robinson, I had a brief chat with an Ambleside runner (Nick Fish?) who was in this select group of 4 & we both agreed that it was no surprise that noone else was following us . I'm pretty sure it was at this point I was Mudged.

I'll add "rather unpredictable" to the list of things I've been called over the years.
