That's an owl by the way....blooming eck, there has been some absolutely gorgeous poems tonight. This is what happens when I accept an invite to leave my hobbit hole for the local hostelry. Two glasses of red wine and a dalwinnie later and I am probably good for nothing. However, a big bike ride tomorrow am from Pateley will soon clear the cobwebs...hill training!

Night Merry...sleep tight and have fun tomorrow. Sounds like it will be good. I'm looking forward to my hills.

I imagine this midnight moment's forest:
    Something else is alive
    Beside the clock's loneliness
And this blank page where my fingers move.

Through the window I see no star:
    Something more near
    Though deeper within darkness
    Is entering the loneliness:

Cold, delicately as the dark snow
    A fox's nose touches twig, leaf;
Two eyes serve a movement, that now
And again now, and now, and now

Sets neat prints into the snow
Between trees, and warily a lame
Shadow lags by stump and in hollow
Of a body that is bold to come

    Across clearings, an eye,
    A widening deepening greenness,
    Brilliantly, concentratedly,
    Coming about its own business

Till, with a sudden sharp hot stink of fox
It enters the dark hole of the head.
The window is starless still; the clock ticks,
    The page is printed.

Right...I am also heading bedwards but want to say that I thought Tri's poem for Freckle was absolutely gorgeous. You are a very thoughtful and creative person Matt. Good luck to you too Freckle, your new neighbour will be lucky to have you and your littlies living upstairs.x

    Back to bed.

Just woke up seen the light,
Looked in the mirror what a sight,
I try to find the bathroom door,
Trip over my clothes on the floor,
I think i'll go back to bed pretend it's night.

    Morning, cracking run. Starving.com now

    Start in darkness, headtorch on
    15 miles, climbing, descending
    Bathed in sunlight, finished, done
