I try and be positive as well but everyone needs a moan now and again and it is just getting the balance right so as not to bore or bring anyone else down with you I think. Negativity can be really wearing.

Sounds gorgeous! You are lucky. Bit better than my misty six miles but I was just testing the waters and tomorrow I tackle some hills.

You are quite right. It is a delicate balance isn't it. You see some people who appear so chipper all the time, that you know they just must explode now and again in private. But whingers are wearing. I've struggled over the years to get the balance right, but I'm slowly getting there. A good winge can be healthy now and again. It is a case of just sharing it with the right person sometimes.

It was just one of those lucky times. An hour earlier or later and I would have missed it. Have fun tomorrow up your hill. I'm glad there doesn't seem to be any lasting damage.

    Changes

We sometimes say we need a change,
As a change is good as a rest
    But often fail to ponder
If change is for the best.

When we feel change will do the trick
And it’s time for a change,
Do we really stop to think
    And have a frank exchange?

For “change, for change’s sake” can mean
That, as our rooms have faded,
    When we change the wallpaper,
    The furniture looks jaded.

And if we change too many things
In way, or shape, or form
Then constant need to change occurs
    And change becomes the norm.

    And change becomes our mentor
    As change succeeds each change
    And every changeless constant
    That stays unchanged seems strange.

And so, if you’re sore tempted
    To spawn unneeded change,
Just change your mind and see that you
Don’t change it, for a change.

Cheers Hes - I enjoyed that very much. As I live in Co.Durham, the County's 'mission statement' (vomit) is "making a difference where you live" !!!! Well they can bloomin' well ****-off! I like it just fine as it is, thank you. And who asked them anyway? Rant over

I've just been up my local hill. Beamsley Beacon has views up into Wharfedale, over to Ilkley Moor and as far as Boulsworth and Pendle. It was misty today but the grouse, Swaledales and a lone guy on a mountain bike were good company

Cheers HHH. No lasting damage, just an interesting palette of colours in unexpected places and I imagine the wincing everytime I see a stone wall will fade with time.

Oh dear. You frequent the wrong part of the world to have a phobia of stone walls! I'm sure, like the bruises, that will fade too.

I know Beamsley Beacon, nice spot. Sounds like a good run.
