Liking the haiku DT or am I going to have to say senryu...a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I am not a morning person and should not stay up reading into the wee hours when I have to get up prompt to work. Can't believe my first race of the year will mean a 6am start on Sunday!

Morning Glory

Disturbed by the alarm
Dishevelled I rise
Disjointed my thoughts
Disconnected I feel
Disgruntled seek coffee
Dismayed - no bread
Disappointed its raining
Disillusioned by news
Disarmed by the caffeine
Distanced from sleep
Dissipating grumpiness
Dissolving the aches
Discipline regained
Discovered motivation
Displaying good intentions.

I really liked this Hes, very good especially the line "distanced from sleep".

Couldn't ease off
Wouldn't just rest
Spoilt good work
On the edge
Now must rest

One misjudged day

Thanks Freckle for your kind words. I nearly lost my friend 2 years ago to double pneumonia, she was in hospital for several weeks in a coma on special care. The medics reckoned that it was only because she was a very fit runner/climber that she survived - so there's a lesson for us all!!

Indeed Mossy! a lesson to us all...glad she was so fortunate and the poem is a lovely way to celebrate both her and her fortitude
