This time of year always gets to me, Jan to March, it's so dull! I need to feel the sun on my face!
I should have been doing Castleton Beacon tomorrow but got no babysitter. I guess I feel a little trapped. Not getting out running much lately...my free spirit is lost!
I've got my little darling Yvie though and wouldn't change that for the world...she truly is a gem x
Lots of luck for your race tomorrow, hope you enjoy x
Yep, this time of year is really tough. Sorry to hear you are not getting out to run because that is what fights my SAD off. Can't believe you have to miss Castleton Beacon. That's where I'm racing tomorrow. Racing is probably not the right word...getting round is my main objective. It must be nice to have your Yvie though and this month is half way through already so Spring won't be far away. Longer days and more chance to get out. Your free spirit isn't lost...she's just in a cave biding her time until she can burst out into the sun!

Wow. For some reason, maybe the way I feel after a glass of wine, I find this just amazingly powerful. One to keep.

Thank you for sharing it with us Hes.

Evening Freckle! I think it might be unrequited love...the person was a blooming rose and then love struck and ate away at them because it could not be...they are languishing, sighing and swooning away (got to use the correct terminology for these matters), their petals wilting and their colour fading....

    Re: Today's poet

Thanks HES an MG for offerings tonight I enjoyed them

Just sign off with a sonnet from Christina Rossetti from her Monna Innominata
(turning the tables on male poets )

Many in aftertimes will say of you
"He loved her"--while of me what will they say?
Not that I loved you more than just in play,
For fashion's sake as idle women do.
Even let them prate; who know not what we knew
Of love and parting in exceeding pain,
Of parting hopeless here to meet again,
Hopeless on earth, and heaven is out of view.
But by my heart of love laid bare to you,
My love that you can make not void nor vain,
Love that foregoes you but to claim anew
Beyond this passage of the gate of death,
I charge you at the Judgment make it plain
My love of you was life and not a breath.

Wise words spoken there. I wish everyone happiness whatever their situation.

Good luck for tomorrow's race. It should be a lovely day.

I'm watching Slumdog Millionaire tonight and I'm finding it quite intense. Before having kids I could have watched it quite happily, but I'm finding it a bit upsetting to be honest. It takes me back to seeing kids begging on the street in Burma and Eritrea.
