Also has anybody got any pictures right from the beginning of the race to ringing roger and the other summits and checkpoints to the finish as my brother is doing the race but this is his first fell race and due to work he is a running coach and where he works he is going to struggle to recce. I don't have any photos and he wont be going round with me as he is about 100 times faster than me so i can't guide him. I know I shouldn't ask others but i can't help him other showing route on map and he's my younger brother so i've got my Big brother hat on.
Pah! Who needs really good maps. Here's one I knocked up myself a couple of years ago . I thought it was excellent at the time but now the embarrassing crapness of it seems to be more noticeable...

Its inaccurate too as the race starts below Ringing Roger just up from the village hall

By the way its a fairly easy route to follow and your brother realistically only stands a chance of getting lost on the bottom left hand corner

I like the minimalistic but very accurate descriptions on your map Stolly such as "Big Climb" to Lose Hill

Yep that sums it up nicely

Thanks Stolly i know you say it's inaccurate but actually it does give him what he needs to know. If you know there is bogs coming and steep climb etc you mentally prepare for it and it's not so bad. So you know i think it will help.

Good to see you shown all the short cuts as well.

I did a bit of the route today (Check HPM thread) for those going out on Sunday there is fresh snow to a substantial depth esp from Brown knoll. I was the first over this ground this morning and there was no obvious track. The top of Kinder allthough well walked is plastered and all the 'Local routes' are covered in new snow. If Sundays race is cancelled I will be there.

Is there a start time sorted yet. 9.30?

If the DP race is cancelled I can pick up people from one of the train stations on route Bamford/Hope??

I could well be interested in coming along, not doing the race haven't got in.
Could be good bg training if you're doing the full route.
    Is it still a goer.
    If so what time?

It sure is an inaccurate map for me Stolly - "Fast Ridge Run" - nope, never managed that ;-)

It is a fantastic map, I'd love to see similar maps for other races.

Soon to be seen in Pete Blands? A range of Stolly's race maps? Can't wait!
