I also did a stint on Saturday from Alderman through to the Foxstone. Lots of snow but most dramatic was the rockfall from Dovestones Edge which I witnessed from near the Memorial Cross. Rifle crack and a (smart) car sized block crashed down the steep slope. Thought it might even have reached the reservoir path but splintered and thankfully halted before. Carried on round to view the scar and thought of the many times I have slogged that slope to climb on the edge! Freeze/thaw big mountain action on the Chew rim - it's all there on our doorstep
Ran along the path under Dovvies dge to the Quarries last night, the car sized block has took out the fence just above the path....decent sized lump of rock that came off....the scar it left close to the path was some 2ft deep...the remnants of the rock stopped just short of the Ashway Gap over flow....Must of been impressive to witness
