Well today was certainly a glorious day to be out on the skyline. Thank you to Saddleworth runners & the mountain rescue folk for putting on the race.

Pity my wheels fell off big time on the loooooooong run home after chew res. Combination of factors / excuses (delete as appropriate) - will have to wait till 2020 to lay this ghost to rest - hey ho.

Can any one with a GPS post how far they ran, and what the altitude gain was, it felt like more than 2000 feet and 13 miles!

Cracking race and a big thanks to Saddleworth for putting it on ... Garmin-wise it was 14.85 miles and 2337ft ... although i went badly wrong down from the last checkpoint and ended up miles back down the lane.

Outstanding event today. Good course, good food, superb conditions and free T-shirt. Well done and thanks.

Got 14.0 miles on my Garmin but no idea of total ascent without plugging into PC. Fantastic race, albeit very hard going. Bit surreal in the snowy landscape around Chew Res, I've been on skiing holidays with less snow. Hit the wall just before the final descent and lost 3 minutes to one of my mates in the last mile or so Good value with T-shirt and food too.

Had to get off right after finishing, missed out on the food and the T-shirt...will see if any one at Sadds can get their hand on a T- shirt for us..

Great race, anyone at Sadds got any ideas if this race is to be resurrected as an annual event or is it just a one off???

Thanks again to Sadds & OMRT...

Ey up Paul - before yesterday I never kept a diary but after passing you on that last descent I decided to start 1! The headline reads "Stuffed Fordham". Please excuse the public gloating and humiliation - it's just so long since I've crossed the line in front of you. I think the wheels must have come off big time for you on that last stretch cos on the run just back out from Chew Res your orange vest was a long way out in front.

What a day, what an event. It should be repeated although I accept that it would have been an entirely different proposition had the clag been down. I stuck to the edge after leaving Chew Res and followed it all the way to the last CP which with hindsight was probably not the best line.

I note the organiser had previously suggested taking a cup to dip in Chew Res. for refreshment - fine if you carried a chipping hammer. The food and view out the sailing club was just perfect. So scran, a great course and a snazzy T-shirt thrown in for £7 - it doesn't get much better.
