Now realise who Mr Brightside is (doling out the juice at Mankinholes) and Anitsocial (if that was the "lady" in the car park). We had a slight nav hiccup dropping down to the main road before the ascent to Mankinholes and a very helpful gentleman near the end kept us on track, otherwise pretty smooth going.

Thanks to all for organising, especially the marshalls and my partner for making me run when I didn't really want too!

    What's next???
Great run. "What's next?" is a dangerous question though. Any sign of John(4of5) and Bill?

Those stiles in the fields you cross just before Mankinholes cp are cramp-inducing monsters

Think one of you spoke to me (Horwich vest) - wasn't tired - just running with my mates (well up to the car park - after that started to work.

John and Bill, AKA the old gits staggered round in a gentlemanly 7hrs 50ish. I'm made up to have got round with no real troubles, but hearing how well the other Glossopians did was fantastic, and all first time hobblers!. Well done.
Also like to thank all the marshalls and volunteers and the weather factory. Brilliant day out.

    Re: Haworth Hobble 2010

Thanks for an excellent event. I was going off it a bit a couple of years ago - the fact that I was running crap didn't help but this year got it just about right. I'm never going to be up with the sub 5 hour crew and probably wont get another sub 6 hour.
Took it very easy at the start (including setting off 90 secs after everyone else - the loo queue had finally gone) then caught up with my training mates. Stuck with my plan to stay with them till CP3 before upping the pace.
For the first time ever, I declined the hot dog at CP4, opting for the attraction of the doughnut instead. Some runners overtook me there by cheating - surely it is a disqualification offence not to partake of the excellent food on offer. There seemed to be quite a few who appreciated me overtaking them at Cross Stone and leading them through the "Bermuda Triangle".
Didn't like the man-made "improvement" on the descent from Stoodley Pike - awful stuff to run on but enjoyed the fact that I could run (and even overtake) on the descent into Hebden Bridge - must be the first time in 20 years that I've not been in agony. Only poor navigation was forgetting that the finish had moved up the hill so I headed through the car park instead of heading for the church. Still very happy to get from Mankinholes to the finish in 2hrs40
Maybe I should lose a bit more weight and have a go at getting a sub 6 time in next year - although yesterday's weather conditions were as a good as we've ever had, albeit a bit cold for shorts for the first hour or two!
