this is true..however i stick by my request to see some of the evidence behind the claim...as an interested runner myself.

we must take into account the improvements in runner ability etc and not just think that putting on one pair of Inov8's will make you run faster/better/stronger than if you wore an alternative pair of (very similar weight) Inov8's

think of it this way (i know i do)...if the fascia band 'bit' does as is claimed....why isnt it included in all Inov8 shoes ? even in a shoe as light as the X-Talon ? and lets remember that the X-Talon was introduced after the 'invention' of the fascia band bit

if you had a slightly heavier shoe from inclusion of the fascia band BUT improved performance..surely you would go for the improved performance as this is far more long term beneficial (in terms of increased propulsion efficiency and reduce(ing) fatigue) than saving a few ounces.

but then the marketing blurb of 'world lightest XC/mountain racer' would no longer be relevent

the mind boggles and the discussion goes ever on

The Fascia Band IS a feature on the World Beating X-Talon 212.

It was cos you are being a contentious git, thought we might have the same genes.

Still agree you need evidence to back up the claims though.

I never said you were petty but if the cap fits.........
Anyway you are almost on my side don't want to argue with you, we should find out why inov insider has gone so quiet.

    Hhhmmm indeed

i made apologies for my oversight re the X-Talon...but still no response...he said he was just a humble runner with no interest in the science.

all i could find was this http://www.inov-8.com/Fascia-Band.asp?L=26 but thats on the Inov8 site

by the way..have you noticed the difference in the 'appearance' of the Fascia band between say the X-Talon and the Roclite 315 much more 'prominent' on the latter...another question would naturally be...do they have the same (training) effect

No, but neither have I noticed a decrease in performance when switching shoes from Innov flyroc to say mizuno wave harrier so I would be interested in projected % increase of the performance when using innovs and how noticable it should be, for example when tri bars came out they revolutionised cycling because of the overall advantage they gave in speed.
