And before you knock it I was reading Ben Goldacre's column in the Guardian yesterday and he reckons that Placebo Gel is just as good as Homeopathic Gel, and he should know.
(It wasn't my Guardian it was Marg's honest.)

Thinking I'v got tendonitis in my left heel...doesn't hurt when no shoes on, but absolutely kills when any shoe is on my foot, right at the back of my heel about an inch or so up from the sole of my foot.

Been managing to run with it, by running it off, as soon as I put my shoe on to run, its agony, but after 10 mins its right...

Not sure whether to carry on with intense running or what yet.

went for a massive burton on Saturday

had just done all the hard stuff like running up great gable in the snow and ice and back down aaron slack to Styhead, got all complacent trotting down to seathwaite: feet went from under me on a sloping slab of rock and I went down with a right clatter

you know that 10 seconds of nausea you get when you try to swallow the pain?

Turned my 'weak' ankle on Saturday, have been waiting for the pain to kick in, low and behold its made an appearance today. Always the same burning pain from the ligament that wraps around the big ankle bone and attaches underneath (as I understood it).

Broke this ankle in three places back in 2006, was told by doctors it would have to be operated on 'within ten years'. Been a while since its given me any bother.

doesn't sound like tendonitis ... may be a heel bursa caused by the shoe rubbing. Still need to ice soundly after exercise ( 20-30 min ) Try reducing friction on the heel ( shiny plaster on heel and soap it to reduce friction, " second skin " or two pairs of thin socks.)

as to ignoring it... in my experience that tends to lead to bigger problems further down the road. Often early diagnosis and a bit of treatment will put things right quickly.

I should talk...now into third week of no running after trying to race with tendonitis, you'd think i'd know better at my age. I
do but impatient , and they were GOOD races.

    Re: Todays Injuries

Ran last night and had ankle pain on inner left ankle. Tried again this morning and it was worse. Feels like the bone hurts.

Supposed to be doing Trollers Trot on Sat . More annoyed about wasting £80 on a non-refundable room booking for tomorrow night though.

Seems to have cleared up now, just randomly gone! It was agony at its peak, but runnable.
