    Re: Edale Skyline 2010

As someone who turned up (from Brighton) but had to drop out at Mam Nick due to injury, I just wanted to know if there are going to be split times provided as in previous years. If not can anyone give me the distance of the checkpoints and I can work it out for myself.

In the meantime a very big thank you to everybody involved in putting this race on; as ever it was a great run (at least until my right foot stopped working).

See you next year - Raymond

I had an entry and didn't run, but it certainly wasn't because I couldn't be bothered. I've got a bone spur on my ankle and worn out cartilage in the joint - arthroscopy due in 4 weeks time.

I can tell you I was desparate to run - having won a silver salver as 1st V50 last year I really wanted to come back to defend it. Don't worry, I'll be doing my best to win it back next year.

Oh yes, and I phoned Andy last week to let him know I couldn't run.

Much better race for me than the first time I attempted it (in 2008). Not quite sure how I got through the Woolpacks, and found the final descent from Ringing Roger very hard, but pleased to finish inside 4 hours.

Sorry if this tongue-in-cheek remark caused any offence or upset; being injured sucks and boy should I know, I missed the Skyline (and most other races) in 2006, 2007 and 2008 through a variety of injuries. Also, life sometimes throws up things which are more important than running races.

Thanks again to the organisers of this top, top, event.
