    Re: Todays Injuries

Was happily building up the distance prior to Brighton Marathon and did a 17 miler off-road with 2,000ft of ascent weekend before last, no bother. The on Tuesday had agonising pain in inner thigh on right leg. Assumed it was muscle strain (a.k.a. groin strain ?), so completelt backed off any training until this morning when did a 3 mile road-run (more of a jog really,) to see how it felt. Probably find out tomorrow...

Missed my planned 20 mile LDWA event run yesterday as a result Bugger !!

    Re: Todays Injuries

Did another little run last night on my way to the climbing wall - could still feel the area being a bit sore, but maybe I'm now being too sensitive about it... ? Perhaps it's time to HTFU and get back into training proper as the mara is only 3.5 weeks away

Gonna try & get back to doing a 3 hour run this w/e but maybe lay off the hills a bit and stick more to the roads

Roll on getting back to proper running i.e. off-road & fells

I feel like i've done some running too, the intensity of the climb was quite demanding. According to Memorymap the route is 3.6m 1925', wheras the calendar has it at 4.5m 1780' what did your Garmin say Al?

3.66 miles as well, will check the climbing later (going out for a drive, and ive forgotten my username)

But, that climb was pretty steep, and the satalite will only have though we where going along on flat satalite miles rather than straight up maybe?

I was considering that but i can't bring myself to believe the technology we're using can't compensate for that. I've just plotted the route for the BOFRA Wasdale Show and it came out at 2.6m 2376' compared to the 2.5m 2400' on their website so i'm going to stick my neck out and suggest the route of Causey Pike has been changed maybe. I'm doing BOFRA Wasdale this year , injury stopped me last year.

    Re: Todays Injuries

If you put the route into grough, it calculates an "on the ground" distance as well as the flat distance....

Back on topic, anyone got any advice for a tight groin? been walking a bit gingerly all weekend after tweaking my knee plyaing football on Friday, and now the knee's better my groin's super tight.

Just read about your unfortunate injury [better late than never !!] and want to tell you my story,I had an ITB injury and can t run for long now before the pain returns so much i have to stop running and i still have pain walking, unbelievably the pain has gone by the next day,If i where a neoprine knee support i don t get any pain whatsoever dunno what it does,i aint got no technical theory i can spit out, thats just the way it is,I was also going in for surgery on a knee that has a split in the cartilage but never went for the op and its settled down itself and can race no probs, long runs sometimes bother it,i me going to give it the ultimate test this year JURA !!!!

    Be lucky

    Good luck
