    A Tanka

    Soft light this evening
    bathes our little running group
    displacing winter
    liberating us from darkness
    bringing joy and friendship back

    A heart rending collection below....

1st day off sick in years
    By lunchtime bored to tears
    Could watch the vile
    Jeremy Kyle
But would rather poke out my eyes with spears

    A vile pestillence
    called Viral pharyngitis
    silences whippet

    Man Flu. Only half
    the world appreciates how
    bravely we bear it.

Great original work by Roy, Herakles, DT and Stef. Stef...hang in there. It is a cliche but the best things in life are worth waiting for and it seems that you have both discovered, in my opinion, the best thing in life.

I have discovered the origin of the expression 'my heart sings'. Thought it was some poetic make believe. Amazing!
Excellent stuff. Good to see you enjoying yourself.

weeks and weeks? Stuff that! Bored with it already. Allendale Challenge on Saturday is the goal.
I note the top quality sympathetic messages from the male forumites! Cheers DT, Merry and Harry. Proof - if ever needed of the point made in poem #3!
No doubt the girls are searching the on-line rhyme generator for words to go with 'pull yourself together' 'get a grip' and 'soft as shite'!
