    Neh nerh neh neh neh

Right, so the verdict on the helmet: it makes my head sweatty, it irritates me to see the edge of it when on the drops and it makes dents in my forehead... NOT happy, so shan't be wearing it, like the other one, other than for races... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

You think I can still return it, even though I have just worn it? You can't see it has been worn...

Started to do the Tintwistle loop on the PBW website, but hate out and backs, so made into a loop by dropping down to the canal, up through stalybridge country park, below Hobson Moor to Roe Cross, towards Hollingworth Hall and down to Arnfield Resr. Front brake failed so all on 1 brake. Was further/ probably harder than the official route (down as 3 - 5 1/2 hr) Did it in less than 2 1/4.

    OK, it was yesterday.

Over to the Denbigh Moors, still pockets of snow in the ditches, but had to strip off gilet as temps got above 20 degrees. Clwydian Hills to my right & snow capped Snowdonia to my right, 20 minutes later I could see Cader Idris & was approaching the Llantysilio Mountains.

    We're lucky people .

85 miles & 1600 mtrs climb, longest distance & time in the saddle I've done.

Well done , 85miles is a good distance. I can just picture the views. I did Leg 3 of the BG and back yesterday and it was as clear as a bell. We are lucky people but we work at it dont we.

    A couple of questions
Are you planning a hundred ? and did you get the hunger knock on the ride.

Always hard to know what clothes to have on in spring on the bike. Its either tooooo hot or cold

    Good Effort FR

10m TT yesterday: planned long 26 was a 26.33 and a 50 second pb, so well happy

Today I took Dom out for a recovery ride...

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

I could have quite comfortably added another 15 miles to round it up, but wanted to get back for a 45 minute run. As soon as I got home my wife wanted me to look after the kids so she could nip out . That'll teach me .

Didn't feel near bonking. I went out with 2 bottles of homemade energy drink - maltodexterin (60g), fructose (5g) & whey protein (5g) - with another mix in a bag, 2 bananas & 2 PowerBars. I stopped to fill up the bottles & buy a Snicker.

I can imagine it was hot on the hills yesterday, but it's about time.

Still not warm enough to get my knees out on the bike.

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Rode out to Chapel-Le-Dale to take some pics of the hilly 50 mile Circuit of the Dales TT. New course record set by Mark Holton in good conditions. Got a good pic of him, full set uploading to SumgMug now. Clocked a certain Wharfedale forumite cycling through although not in the race! I probably got 75 miles in myself.
