Id have thought though that Ribble would have re opened a shop mind. Warehouse s okay but they must be missing out on some buisness.
I think though that they have a very loyal band of customers as lots of riders up there have that blue winter training bike that they have on offer each year for 40 quid. Err I know at least one forumitette that owns one or maybe three of those.
Be interesting if she would have purchased that bike if no shop was there at the time.?
AL did they have the shop when you purchased yours.

The Ribble bikes are even making a mark down here
I mean this is Raleigh country and Mercian

They will be offering a free hot pot with there frames next
errr £35.99, it was a winter special

Not sure what I would have got as a winter hack tbh although the ads in the comic may have steered me in that direction regardless although the shop was there and as a regular regardless for those essential bits and bobs then yes they were my first port of call. You're right they must be missing a trick really by closing the shop as it was always busy whenever I went.

and you could be onto something with the hot pot

New shoes are a must for a girl! I am really happy with mine... They performed very well at their first outing on Saturdays TT

Made good use of my rest day today to enter a 10, a 15 and a 25m TT as well as my very first hillclimb

Still struggling to find road races that fit in with both work and my abilities in the next couple of months, apart from our club handicap on 9 May

    No new shoes for me
Ive two pairs of spezialized ones that I swear by. Gonna have to drill the bolts out on the older ones as I forgot to take the cleats off and they have seized

Got some new Shimano carbon soled shoes today as my 6 year old Specialized are getting tatty. Also ordered some Carbon Keo 2 Max pedals. Pick the bike up tommoz after my ride, saw it today with just the hoods and cables to go on, looks buff!

We want pics as soon as you have it

I bought new shoes as my old tri shoes were getting very tatty and the velcro fasterners have started to loosen on their own accord as soon as I put some serious ower through, so they are now for training only... new shoes for racing only

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

A very tough 57miles tonight in a round about way.
Climbing from Belper up to Alport then drop down and climb up to Wirksworth then onto Middleton Top, down to Cromford then up to Crich via Holloway. Drop down from Crich Stand, head back over to Tansley then double back to Butterley Hill, Ripley, Heanor then back to Ilkeston.
    Thats a lot of climbing
Didnt use the 26 sprocket , always prefer to have one left for an emergency
The 13/26 gearing is perfect for down here and into the Peak where there is just no flat riding.

Didnt see may other bikies out.

Some of these climbs are very steep.
    Cromford to Black Rocks
    Matlock to Riber Castle
    Alport
    The list goes on

You can have the best bike and best gearing but there is no substitute for time on the bike.
Would love to be able to ride every day.

Yes Hann your Tan Lines are noticeable on your picture

Am still keeping the Specialized shoes but just not for best, took off cleats today as they were chipped. The bars are the only non carbon addition, just gone for some lightweight ali bars, think they are Cinelli, not 100% sure, not keen on the feel of flatish carbon bars. Will take some pics, prob tommoz if time although new pedals won't be here until the end of the week. Last ride out on the steel winter hack tommoz until back end of the year.
