Arione is a cracking saddle.... aside from miles and miles in training rode the full distance Paris-Roubaix sportive (250km with 50km of pave) and not a hint of soreness. That said, everyone's undercarriage is very different

It's worth splashing out on some really good shorts. You can't beat Assos in my book and don't forget to slather on the chamois cream Udderly Smooth is great.

Given that comparison Daz what would you compare taking your jacket off whilst riding too?

It certainly is found the arione fine on training rides coupled with the assos shorts but 112 miles in 40 degree heat in the south of france in nothing but a tri suit was a different story.... could have left some very permenant damage

63 Miles on the new stead this morning. Went out on it briefly yesterday and altered a couple of things before the ride today. Was a brisk one today, 3 of us set off and by Billington the group had swelled to 7 and we picked up 4 more en route. The pace through the lanes was kept between 25 and 30mph and felt good. I did about 20 mins in total on the front but my legs felt far from fresh after this weeks efforts. By the cafe at 30 miles the average was just shy of 20mph. I came back through the Trough with 2 boy racers and apart from getting dropped on the steepish climb to the top I kept with them at a hard pace over undulating terrain. Average had dropped to 18.6 by the time I got home. Bike felt good, light with solid, with accurate gear changes. Very pleased, pedals also came today but I was out so will have to collect from the sorting office in the morning.

I don't know how many miles I've done on the old Kettler Opal because the computer display is not working any longer - but I did the last 20kms of Stage 4 of the President's Tour of Turkey yesterday. Glorious sunshine every day. I'll just catch the finish now, and then go for a run. This Eurosport TV cycling, without wind, rain, trucks, and bits of dreck on the road, is almost better than the real thing.

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Ratfink, I am out on the bike 4-5 days a week, racing 1 - 2 times a week, one rest day a week, that is 6 days in the saddle...

But I don't run at the moment, I am expereimenting to see how good I can get on the bike...

Daz, put me down for 20 mph as well...

I reckon we get a good 4th cat peloton together on here
