    Stolly,

Can't you get up there during the week and leave a trail of biscuit crumbs for us?

Just go up (rather than down) that side of Whernside - the trod down is easy peasy to see

Is that the same trod off the ridge that some of us climb up on The Fellsman - the narrow one with no overtaking?

Going up rather than down you probably wouldn't choose to use the bottom two short cut trods but you would the third, which is probably the one you're on about on the Fellsman Britnick. You swerve to the right just after the last stile on the way up. It is however totally hidden from view coming down, so you have to know where to veer off looking for it to catch it. I sure as hell wouldn't attempt an over taking manoeuvre on it mind.

The other two short cuts both replace the boulder strewn mess of the main path with grassy/tussocky soft and fast running. I thought most 3Per's knew about them to be honest, especially the middle short cut

    Hi Stolly

I know the two lower ones and the upper one going up. I did wonder about this but don't know exactly where to cut off, Perhaps I'll go up this Saturday and have a look.

The one year I was prepared to try and find it was the world mountain challenge race but of course then it wasn't allowed

My flight has been cancelled and I can't get a seat on another one, so I won't be there.

    Have a good race everyone.

Also, if you didn't know you need to label any drinks you intend to leave at Ribblehead/Hill Inn with your race number.
