Like you're thinking though, I was wondering whether the fact that we've just come off a fast road section had a bearing on our (or my!) ability to get up the hill well. Think the tendency is to think that it's a short race so you have to go flat out but it would seem you can apply a bit more intelligence to it than that!
But yes you have to go off fast but remember it's not the first to the top of that hill it's to the finishing line. I find it easier to run the last hill up to the gate.
A guy kept pushing passed me and Simon going up the hill and he finished way down
