Looks like you're just approaching the Braithwaite Wife Hole. First time I went by it I was really tired, didn't know it was there and had to stop myself being drawn over the edge in a horrible Hitchcock 'Vertigo' moment.

Good not to see the comments about discarded wrappers, etc this year. I traced the route down off PYG after the runners had gone through and again off Ingleborough after around half the field had passed and I never saw one single item of litter. The way it should be, good show.

Yeah, I ran the route in reverse last Monday from the top of Whernside, down to Ribblehead, up and down Pen y Ghent (only following some of the route here) and then up Ingleborough and saw just one half eaten energy bar and a few spilled jelly babies and nothing else. Well done to all the runners and the 3P sweeperupperers

I saw those jelly babies being spilled, but I heard them calling out to their runner, "Don't stop Carruthers! Go on without me!"

They're great Jez, but you might not want to see them as they are mostly of the climb up Whernside. Brought back painful memories for me.

Yes - I can't see them now either. There were a few pics of runners taken from the top of Whernside looking down, and some of the rescue helicopter. Didn't see any close ups of Ilkley runners though, Jez.
