But you've got the worst of the climbing over and it's a nice quick run in to Dent!

However, towards the wee hours, I was informed that only coffee was offered as the beverage? Now, who else on here likes to finish a meal with a brandy or 2? My descent from Yarnbury clearly depends on suitable "digestifs" or else the running plays havoc with the meal.
.................so my question is........ which hip flask passes kit check?
I have searched all previous forums so as not to annoy the GRUMP, but this most important quandry has yet to be answered......

    Visibility
    Good or very good.

    Hill fog
    None expected.

    Maximum winds above 400m
Northeasterly 30 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph.

    Temperature
Valleys Plus 5 Celsius increasing to plus 9 Celsius.
    700 m Plus 1 Celsius
    Freezing level Near the summits.

I knew burning that effigy of Michael Fish last night was a winner.

That's quite a change from earlier in the week!

    I'm almost disappointed.

    Almost, but not quite

    How far to Fleet Moss?

Trying to work out if we stand any chance of getting there before the grouping time - I suspect we don't

38 miles. Last time I did the event I cleared Fleet Moss and grouped at Cray. It was just a brisk walk and a little downhill running to get there. You have 10 hours to get there, so 3.8 miles per hour.

    Hi Toreador,
I've also decided to give the Fellsman a try this year, given there was no GL3D this year.
In answer to your question I think it's about 35 miles to Fleet Moss.
