    Re: Today's poet

Late to the thread as usual...spent all day in bed with sickness and a migraine and just remembered to vote twenty minutes before the polling station closed.

This has been posted before but I am feeling indulgent:

    Love

    Until I found you
    I write verse, drew pictures
    and went out with friends
    for walks.

    Now that I love you,
    curled like an old mongrel
    my life lies, content
    in you...

Like MG's poem and Hes' selection, 'curled like an old mongrel' can identify with that.
Hope your feeling better now Hes, looks like you have a 'warm glow' in your life, pleased for you

Regardless of my own dark feelings
Self pity must be cast aside
A smile raised for another's happiness

Hello Merry. That is a lovely post, thank you.
I do indeed have a warm glow but it aint always easy is it? I am learning to detest mobile phones and the lack of warmth when holding a bit of plastic to my ear and struggling to get a signal! I do hope you are find some cosiness to curl into. Sounds like you need a bit of comfort. Sending you the wish for sunny times ahead.

    Re: Today's poet

Seems like the forum has a time limit on composing poetry...I was logged out when writing on the hoof just now.

    No sense

    there is no sense
    without you here
    without your taste
    just bitter fear
    without your touch
    my body dulled
    without your smell
    the bed is cold
    without your voice
    the silence grows
    without your look
    my heartbeat slows
    with you I see
    and all is clear
    there is no sense
    without you here
