38 miles. Last time I did the event I cleared Fleet Moss and grouped at Cray. It was just a brisk walk and a little downhill running to get there. You have 10 hours to get there, so 3.8 miles per hour.

However fast I go I rarely seem to average more than about 3.2 mph!

In answer to your question I think it's about 35 miles to Fleet Moss.

Pilgrim just pipped me at the post; I didn't bring last year's punch card to work with me (for some unearthly reason ) but had just guestimated 38 miles in my head. Cray is about the 44 mile point and thats where I got grouped last year.

Just taken a last minute decision to drive up in the morning. It's a 2:30 drive but I know I'll get more sleep at home than on the floor in some school hall. Hate making last minute changes but I think it's the right choice

Ahhh... but have you factored in all the side to side meandering and staggering?

My "speed" last year, running with a crippled ankle, was 3.412962 mph. This year I'm aiming for 3.7578757 mph, although I'll happily settle for 3.6470588..................
