Can I be the first to congratulate you on the 'proportionate' scaling you've used in that graph; its like we are running in the Himalayas or something

    Quick route question...

    The handbook states:

"On leaving the Capplestone Gate checkpoint, keep the wall on your right-hand side as far as the junction with the green lane, then bear left, following the footpath to Yarnbury"

Does this mean head SE from the cairn for 50-100m then take the footpath that heads S then SW (marked on the OS map as Conistone Turf Road)? If so, I'm guessing this means we can't follow the wall ESE then S to pick up the bridleway around 706689 (which looks a lot quicker)? I'm sure I won't care when (if!?) I get there, but I'm marking up my map now and want to make sure I get it right.

    Cheers!

Hank from memory the fellsman route as shown on the grough route mapping thingy actually follows the left (wall) rather than the right one. That said, I think a lot of the route here is flagged (I think it was last year anyway with little lights) as the route ceases to be through open access land.

That's the way I'm going. Basically you approach the Capplestone checkpoint with the wall on your right, then on leaving don't cross it, just follow it down and around.

Right, I'm setting off now to stop local at Ingleton. Good luck everyone.

PS that GR looks iffy. Perhaps 006

Keep the wall on your right but to do so you will be crossing another, run down, wall as you take a 90 degree turn right before you drop onto the green road where you take a left turn. Never done the event yet, until tomorrow, but reccied this 2 weeks ago. There was a small cairn on the left side of the green road then, wether it will be there tomorrow / Sunday morning is anyones guess.

Ok, cheers... yeah, it looks more left on my map. Anyway, if I can make it that far round I'm sure I'll make it to Threshfield somehow!

Good luck to everyonen who's running/walking/crawling tomorrow... see you there!

I'm doing this tomorrow, should I be worried? Last minute nerves are setting in!

I have got my first navigational dilemma, setting the Sat Nav for the School at Threshfield,
Anyone know the post code or road name for the school please.
