TT - yep, see yer there

    re water:
I'd deffo give Moasdale Beck a miss - yuck!
when I recce'd it there was a nice little trickle coming down Little Stand, but I'm guessing that will be dry...?
does anybody know if Gaitscale will deffo have water that high up?
what about the streams as you get down towards 3 Shire Stone? does anybody know if they're flowing/good drinking?

On the recce (2 weeks ago), there was a trickle coming off Hard Knott and also off of Little Stand, but with the fairly dry weather I'm not relying on them being there tomorrow. It looked like there might have been a better stream a bit to the left on LS but if there was it was a way off the best line(s). Gaitscale Gill will definitely be flowing and there'll probably be something near 3 Shires, but that's yer lot!

Well done to all those who did the longun.
The short was tough enough for me.

That was hard! Me not like hot weather!

Wasn't doing too badly until Three Shires then things just seemed to go off the rails and struggled on the climb to Swirl How as I felt a bit ill. From then on it was just a case of hanging on in there, not helped by my knee locking up so from White Pike to Caw was mostly walking. Finished in 5:11, just outside my target of 5hrs.

Thanks to whoever it was who handed me water on Dow Crag - most appreciated.

    Unhappy Re: Duddon - 5th June 2010

Another warm one! and another painful climb up Little Stand

Duddon might not be my favourite fell race but it must be my favourite setting for one I keep forgetting they let you camp in the parking field after the race so next year I must take my tent.

My thanks to the organisers and marshalls who were their usual cheerful selves again today

Hi Ian - She was running really well across Gaitkins and up Wet Side Edge - which was the last I saw of her in the race. I think she came fourth in the ladies behind Jane Reedy, Jackie Lee and Kate Jenkins.

Never offered to carry my rucksack, mind - obviously I don't have your touch!

    Yes, she was 4th and 1st over 40. In 3:53, I think.
