Has it got Skyway mags on it?
Has it got Skyway mags on it?
Back on thread, off to look at a Patterdale puppy tomorrow, should have been doing a 75 mile bike ride but feel rough, probably a shock to my system working again.
Anyway, kids, Mrs and me are all keen to get a dog, any advice on injections and the like when getting a puppy, want to do the job right and give it a good home.
I'd drop Longdogs a pm with any questions... she was super helpful with my questions about how much to exercise my pup.
also... the most important thing from the books I've read and from advice from the breeder is socialisation, socialisation, socialisation. Don't just leave it to chance to encounter other dogs, kids, bikes, people in wheelchairs, horses etc but go out of your way and make it a positive experience, get kids to give the pup treats etc.
Thanks for the advice nikalas ;-)
Merry,
My pup recieve his first vacination on tuesday; 8 weeks. In two weeks time he cane have his final jab and then after a further 2 weeks he can go outside of our garden.
Although, I was speaking to my dad's mate yesturday who got a litter of springer spaniels which are waiting 4 weeks between 1st and 3nd vacination as apposed to my 2 weeks?
Make sure you've got plenty of toys Merry, my pup is cute and cuddly 70% of the time, but he has these serious nutter modes where he wants to fight/bite the hell out of me. Uusally about 7am and then again at 11pm.
Oh, and carrots are a god send.
As for exercise, ive also asked Longdogs and consulted google and the like and forget about running with him for a very long time. Way over a year.

Cheers Al, toys are not a problem in our house and i could be fit in a year ;-)
We've got a 12 week old smooth haired Patterdale Terrier bitch called Gem, this is not her but she looks just like the photo.
Will try and post some pictures when i've sorted technical problems out.
Got my hands full at the mo!!!!!
Welcome to the dog club merry.
Harry is 'harrying' along nicely nowadays and, when he's not being completely mental, loves playing rugby in the field out back, running/fannying about in the hills and swimming/ wading through becks. A real Wilderness Explorer..... and a sometime large pain in the arse
