The new Stile is totally out of your control, let's just treat it as a new obstacle shall we?

Just contacted Oxspring Parish Council and the work is not to start until the 21st June. Parking for the 14th will not be affected.
I will update situation as I find out for future Trunces.

    Thanks Andy
I will 'tip the wink' to my neighbours whose kids are in the junior series (they don't read this site)

Having missed Race 4 I'm hoping to be back for Race 5 (assuming the house move goes well over the weekend). It could be a wet one.

Here's also hoping that our Race Photographer is all present and correct and captures me in full action through the river, Richard, if you're reading this you have an order if you snap the bloke in the red salomon top and 3/4 tights splashing through the river!

    Cheers
    JR

P.S. I'm in the middle of reading Feet in the Clouds by Richard Askwith and The Trunce has just had a mention! It's a read I would highly recommend.

Results up before I'd even had my tea.

A little muddier than of late which I like but a wrong shoe choice probably cost me a PB It was much slippier on the second descent than I thought and had to go slower than usual

On the plus side second fastest run for me ever and only 13 seconds off that PB, next time.....

Well done to Graham Gristwood home in 22:44 for a new course record on only his second Trunce

    Seconded on the new record.

Yes, I was surprised to see them up so soon.

I'm not best pleased with my time/position, but...., there's only one person to blame for that

    Quite a small field too!

Well done everyone. I found it really tough tonight, it was only my 3rd attempt but the going seemed heavy underfoot. Nonetheless I was very satisfied with a PB of 28:20, that's 14 secs faster than last time. I think I'm getting addicted!

I went with trail shoes but last night was one of the few occasions where I think fell shoes might have been appropriate for the trunce. I just missed out on a pb as well and think I might have got close in fell shoes, mind you who's to say how much time I then might have lost on the road as a result!

That was the first time I'd encountered that new stile, coming down to the river the second time I'm sure that must have cost me minutes as well!

    Next up Grindleford on Thursday.

That's the reason I wear my 'Wave-Harriers', instead of my 'Mud-Claw 330s', as they're better on the road section & still grippy enough in the woods
The M-C's are too 'absorbant' on the road, & seem to be too awkward to run in on a sealed surface - especially with the rounded heel tread (or is that just me)

As for the new stile, it was a surprise at the last event, but to be fair to Andy, he didn't know about it either - so didn't warn us at the start.
