I might have got close in fell shoes, mind you who's to say how much time I then might have lost on the road as a result!
That was the first time I'd encountered that new stile, coming down to the river the second time I'm sure that must have cost me minutes as well!
The M-C's are too 'absorbant' on the road, & seem to be too awkward to run in on a sealed surface - especially with the rounded heel tread (or is that just me)
As for the new stile, it was a surprise at the last event, but to be fair to Andy, he didn't know about it either - so didn't warn us at the start.
