That's a great time Rombald, many congratulations. I'm guessing that will take some beating.

I went back a couple of weeks ago and checked out the route from Dicks Lane into Broadhead valley. If my memory serves me right, the secret is not to count the second boundary stone that is c. 20m to your right (the one that's slighly off-vertical). Continue on to the next boundary stone after that, then take a small path to the right just after this. When this path forks take the left option - this then leads directly to the marker posts at the head of the valley. Something like that anyway....

Yes that's the way. Where that small path goes off there is also a small barrel-shaped rock (as an extra check that you've got the right spot).

Since then there is has been a new record of 2-24 but as it says on the first page the elite time is sub - 3 hours which is looking quite generous now. I will be changing it for 2011 !!
