But to join a real club, a club that's not insecure about the fact they might not win a race for a while, not scared that they won't flood a race with their colours, and most importantly, not scared to go to the pub for a pint (or two), hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
    Ha!

Once Greenhead is sorted, with luck it will have a track as good as Halifax Harriers and possibly even a decent club house.

Horses for courses, CVFR are good at what they do, the mighty Wharfedale (sic Willmarsh!!) are good, so are KCAC. Each slaggging the other off, just sounds petty even though people are winding each other up for a laugh. Any visitor to this thread would think that people hate each other in fell running. I think people need to chill a bit!!
i remember when keighley had two clubs, the hill runners with a cracking bunch of lads (and lasses) were mainly a bofra club joined up with the road runners. it didn't last long because most of the hill runners got disillusioned and formed wharfedale.

brett and some of the keighley people do a fantastic job and bringing on good runners and i have no doubt that they run their club fantastically and it is good to see them well supported.

calder valley are a much older club and a proper fell running club. it was anti that brought it up.

ps the green, red and white hooped vest are grotesque

Don't doubt anti brought it up, seems like him. Don't really know much about the history of KCAC, am relatively a newcomer to the area (moved up here 3 1/2 yrs ago). Still consider myself an outsider if you like. But KCAC have been welcoming, I had never run on fells before, knew nothing of FRA / BOFRA etc, only found out that history this year reading Xmas present book! I've found all clubs and people to be friendly and if I knew who you were JtB would happily have a pint with you.

Ps vests aren't great and look even worse when you take little biaras to a road race have to wear an XXS, that was seriously skintight and it didn't look good

biara, i ve no doubt kcac are a great club to run for and i know many of their runners and have competed against them for lots of years. i was just pointing out to anti, who was in many ways poking fun at cvfr. i believe it was all tongue in cheek in getting some club rivalry going and thats why i asked him that. i wasn't taking the micheal, just having a bit of fun back.

maybe at one race we will meet and i will buy you a pint.

There seemed to be lots of photos taken at the Tom Tittiman race. Have any surfaced anywhere?

My lad Adam was taking photos on Tom Tittiman. We'll try to get them uploaded and post a link. Dave Woodhead was taking photos as well apparently, so probably be on the Woodentops site.

And there are some photos from Reservoir Bogs, courtesy of Pete Fitzpatrick here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27749703@N03/sets/72157624314778592/

Why do you know of one in the Calder or Wharfedale areas.

Oh I actually really do like our vests, the colours stand out, everyone knows the name of the club without a badge and they were my old school colours.

theres calder valley, a REAL fell running club. not far up the road from them there's todmorden and near you there's bingley, a club with a great fell running tradition.

and finally the only club with worst vest than yours are dark peak with the horrible brown and multi coloured efforts.

Thanks Bill (and Adam). I didn't spot Dave Woodhead, and he's not easy to miss. I must have been concentrating too much on my leaden quads and not twisting an ankle.
