I was watching Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid the other night for the umpteenth time and there's a famous scene in it where Slim Pickens, mortally wounded in a gunfight, is dying next to the river.
Dylan is singing "Knocking on Heaven's Door" on the soundtrack.

Well...for some reason, probably several different ones including the huge tumbleweed that has just floated across the poetry thread...and perhaps the notable absence....of someone.....or some thing.....I can't get this particular track out of my tiny little freckle brain.....
